Austen Camille

About the Artist

Austen Camille is a Canadian American artist, writer, builder, and gardener, always moving between locations for projects, and currently growing roots in rural Connecticut. Camille primarily makes site-responsive public work that facilitates relationships with local ecosystems. Alongside and integrated with her studio practice, Camille forges connections between the arts and other disciplines, amplifies rural stories, and facilitates opportunities wherever possible to get folks’ hands into the soil. Recent projects include work across the country with The Nature Conservancy, the Columbia Land Conservancy, the North Dakota Natural Resources Trust, the City of Raleigh, the Aldo Leopold Foundation, and the International Crane Foundation, among others. Camille received her MFA in painting from the Tyler School of Art & Architecture, Temple University.
