Beaver and The People
Today, forest management policy across Turtle Island (i.e., North America) focuses on frequent and large-scale disruption paradigms. The siting and scale of forest disruption practices in the Algonquian Northeast do not match millennia of Indigenous stewardship. Agencies and forestry employees devote great effort to promoting narratives that call for disruption of forests at various scales and stages across landforms.
